Holborn – again with a two-part, specially-crafted show titled ’Dynamite’, comprising a mixture of Ese originals old and new, alongside carefully-chosen covers.
London-based singer/guitarist/songwriter/bandleader Ese and her floating multi-national, multi-racial collective will play 19 songs over two explosive sets. Expect surprises and musical fireworks. Booking in advance is strongly advised – E&TVP shows at Pizza Express always sell out!
Born and raised in Bermondsey, South London of Nigerian (Yoruba) heritage, Ese Okorodudu is a musician, singer, songwriter, bandleader and performer currently based in the East of the capital and is the founder and leader of the floating musical collective known as Ese & The Vooduu People.
Graduating from London’s most demanding performing arts school – the streets, as a busker – Ese (vocals, guitar) is backed by a floating pool of some of London’s best musicians and cooks up a heady stew of improvised rock, soul, funk, jazz and Afrobeat. These musicians are carefully selected on a project-by-project basis by Ese herself and are drawn from a variety of nations and continents – South America (Guyana, Venezuela, Brazil), USA, Europe (Italy, UK, Germany) and Africa (Togo, DR Congo).
